UT austin 2017/2018 Transfer Thread

Just trying to vibe to some music to reduce the stress rn, it’s to real.

@hbkatz Yes and no. If they bring a new idea to your application then yes. So one of mine was my gov professor, who is one of my favorite teachers of all time, who got her phd from UT. I don’t know specifically how much weight that has to it though. Historically they don’t mean much unless the recomendee is important or they bring something new.

@karlaawest Yea same here .

I do not have LOR too…I am afraid…

I would assume CNS will see their results be fulfilled throughout the next few days, people from other schools might need to wait long yet.

But what do I know? All I know is that I’m super excited to see a bunch of people getting accepted!! CONGRATS SO FAR!

HOOKEM!!! Got into College of Natural Sciences Biology major! Good to luck everybody!
3.85 GPA, 2 LOR, 54 credit hrs

@pmay23 Congrats!!!

Still havent heard anything (Comp Sci), so now I’m extra nervous. Yikes.

Hello everyone!

I’ve been following this thread since the beginning of March and I found out that I was admitted today!

Here are my stats:

Transferring from: Austin Community College
Major: Mathematics
Hours: 58 (71 after this semester ends)
Transfer GPA: 3.6, good grades in STEM classes
Letters of Recommendation: None
Essays: One good, one decent
Extracurriculars: Decent
Accepted 4/26/2018

Good luck to the rest waiting for an admissions decision!

@Chipaton Same, still waiting on CompSci

I got into CS without any letters of recommendation @chelsea0803 @hbkatz

@LPFanVGV Congrats!!!

Thanks!!! Congrats!!!

Is a 3.8 pretty good for transferring in to COLA? Human Dimensions of Organization as the major!

@hbkatz Yes. A definite yes. Unless your essays were really bad then I’d say you have a good chance.

Anyone here in Moody or RTF that already got accepted?

Congrats to everyone!!! @utcshopeful I’m in

Hey no shame in a CC. I got my associate’s from a CC and nearly all of my professors were also professors at
Baylor, and it was the same curriculum. If we missed a class in some cases we would just go the next day to Baylor and sit in the class there and it would be the same. I’ve had some very rigorous CC classes. I always recommend a CC for those who aren’t sure where the wanna go right away, I loved my time at one and they’re a great option for people who can’t afford a four year right away :slight_smile:

Nobody yet (I’m RTF too). Though I think my GPA may be too low, I’ll still let y’all know if I make it in or not! @Artix01

Dude im kinda scared because my gpa in a foreign univ is too low in the standard in here but real high in that country, although it still transferred as a credit, it didnt affect my recent grade in CC
