UT Austin appeals 2022

@HopefulAggie200 I’d honestly rather not post my appeal because it’s pretty personal and emotional, plus I would never help someone with that username  kidding of course.

I will say though, what seemed to work for me is this basic format:

  1. A polite introduction thanking the committee for taking the time to consider you
  2. A body paragraph stating whatever new information you’d be presenting (I honestly had no new info) and showing some strong interest in attending
  3. A nice closing, possibly with another thank you, and show them why you’d be a good fit. I’d end with a sentence about how you are going to be proud to attend and make the school happy they accepted you in the end.

Everything I read says try not to make it too long; I wouldn’t worry so much about the length of it as long as you aren’t repetitive and keep it reasonable. There is obviously no hard and fast rule regarding word count.

Finally, just know that I heard 2% of appeals are approved. It is extremely rare. Don’t put faith into it; move on from UT and if it ends up working, it would be a pleasant surprise. It’s already the end of March. As it is, I’d imagine it’s getting late for appeals also. I submitted mine literally the day after I was initially rejected.

Good luck!
