UT-Austin biased? help!

since i’ve heard from token adult that i dont have to self-report my race, does it mean that im not considered as an intl applicant at UT-Austin anymore…sry…im not that smart.
the other thing is i browsed thru the official website of UT and it said that 75 % of the freshman class profile is based on the top 10% rule…something according to rank only within texas. so being an intl applicant, is it still possible for me to apply considering that i can only compete for the remaining 25 %??
someone help!! thanks in advance

you are still an international since you have to state your country.

thx.how abt my second question?about my chance.thats the most important one

There are over 55 thousand students at UT Austin. If 25% were not admitted because they were in the top 10% at a Texas school, that means about 14000 students were in the remaining 25%, and that’s more students than most schools have all-together.

I quality for the top 10% rule, but the business school does not use that rule, they still base 75% of their applications solely on rank, though. Last year the cut off was top 1.7%. I am in the top 4%, but I have great ECs and can write a good essay, so I’m hoping for the other 25% there. The business school only has 1000 students, so that means a measly 250 even had a chance at getting in with a rank of top 1.8% or higher.
