@tb2000 my kids got into UT Austin -Plan II and did not receive any merit scholarships. Top of their class, Nat’l Merit finalists. UT ends up being more expensive for us than UChicago and Northwestern thus far. When you end up seeing the cost for tuition plus r&b at UT = 22k/year per kid. Its crazy.
Is it normal to not have a letter of admission from UT Austin on the portal as an international student? My portal says that I’m admitted, but unlike UIUC or Purdue I can’t find a letter of admission on the portal.
I appealed my admissions decision, which was CAP, mid-February and I still haven’t heard back. It currently says that my appeal is under review. Is that a good sign? Do people often get accepted by appealing their admissions decision?
@MisPollitas00 hard to believe that Chicago and Northwestern are cheaper for Texas people.- Congrat
22k Is a bargain for the education you would get at PlanII. and I said most people do not get year 1 merit. sometimes PlanII and I think almost always engineering honors gives some. My youngest will be UT22 and in LAH( did not apply plan II) and also did not get money- got it from all other schools. Did not compare costs but I think prices are close between UT and other schools where she did get Money- Texas was always her first choice. I think she would go there even if others had offered full ride.
If you are a full-pay OOS student, then UT Plan II, at $35k tuition, is a relative bargain compared to $55k at many private schools.

@Sleepywombat @tb2000 @bros20000 I actually think Dean’s Scholars is the most selective out of all of the honor programs. They only accept around 70 to 80 kids every year, and I know of students that chose Dean’s over Harvard.
is UF a better school than UT Austin? which is ranked academically better and which has better networking and connections for post graduation? please help me someone

@dr88888888 and @quincyl Once you have uploaded your Certificate of Financial Responsibility, a Download button will appear on your MyStatus home page, which lets you download your admission letter.
@quincyl @worldmum I just got the admissions letter a few days ago, I haven’t uploaded my CFR, but it showed up after I received an e-mail from UT notifying me of my admissions decision, although it had been posted since February

Hey guys, so I was denied admission for RA about Mid-February, however I did submit a decision appeal on that same day. I haven’t received any response yet and the status still shows that the appeal is in review. Does anyone know when decision appeal responses usually come out or how long they take?
Call them up. My sister also had an appeal and she called them up and they told over the phone that it was approved. Her mystatus did not update until two weeks later. Your appeal may already be reviewed.
