UT Austin or Yale Engineering?

I applied under civil engineering and got accepted into UT Austin which is about #5 in civil. I also got deferred SCEC to Yale for mechanical, but since I have family connections I have a feeling I will get in. My question being, for engineering would it be better to go to a school that is better for engineering like UT, or a very prominent brand name school that doesn’t have the most highly ranked engineering department. I would also like to attend graduate school which largely contributes, since going to Yale would probably give me a leg up in graduate school admissions. I was just wondering what the general take on this subject is since I haven’t seen a thread about this specific topic, because most people would say Yale just because of the “brand name”.

If you want to go into engineering, go to UT. If you just want an engineering degree in order to go into finance or something, go to Yale. Engineering firms KNOW that UT is an excellent school for civil engineering. Even my boss in Maine was impressed by my UT degree in civil (architectural) engineering.
