UT Austin Plan II or Colorado College?

Hi!

I have been accepted to Plan II at UT Austin and also to Colorado College.

I am having a horribly hard time deciding between the two and would love some advice, especially from anyone associated with the schools.

Also, if anyone is familiar with the theatre program (specifically technical theatre) at either school, I’d love to hear about it. Is it easy to get involved? Is it organized? Quality theatre?

My rough pro/con list:

UT Pro

-Austin
-music
-swimming
-resources of a big school
-networking
-small Plan II classes
-Plan II
-in-state tuition
-some small classes

UT Con

-HUGE
-in-state
-weather
-lost in the sea of people
-harder to become active in extracurriculars?

Colorado College Pro -

-backpacking
-mountains
-small
-small classes
-face time with professors
-adventure
-block plan? (3.5 weeks of one, intense class followed by a 4 day break, 4 classes a semester, back to back)
-snow

Colorado College Con -

-too small?
-expensive
-block plan?
-music scene
-Colorado Springs
-lack of social consistency due to the block plan?

Thank you so much! I’m sure anything will help.

Texas is better and cheaper IMO

In the off chance that you still check this page, what did you decide. Why? How did it turn out. We are faced with the same dilemma.

Windchk, Since the OP only had one post I doubt they still look at CC. What are your specifics? Can you afford Colorado College? Are you IS for UT?
