Just wondering if anyone has any information on A-PRIME Time program at UT - Brownsville. I know they have a minimum requirement of 3.25 GPA, 21 ACT 1500 SAT. My son has much better ACT SAT score but his GPA is 3.1. Is there a way he can apply or will he be rejected right away because of lower GPA.

<p>I don’t know what that program is, but UT Brownsville which will become UTRGV in a few months is extremely easy to be admitted into. I firmly believe you are safe with a 3.1 GPA. Have you been to Brownsville though? Any reason why you are not applying to UTRGV/UTPA in Edinburg? I’m from the McAllen area (living in Lubbock as I’m attending Texas Tech University) and trust me if you have a choice go with McAllen/Edinburg are over Brownsville.</p>
Sorry to reopen the old thread NewbieKatyDad, but I have a similar question. What kind of stats do the applicants have? I’m guessing they are more competitive?
