Let’s hope we’re next! Hang in here, everyone!
@Utex2020 where did you hear about the international wave two weeks ago?
Either Reddit or discord, I can’t remember.
I have a strong feeling that some of us might hear back next week. UT typically lets out some transfer decisions before Thanksgiving break. For the ones that they release in late December, it’s usually for applicants who still need to submit their Fall grades in order to complete the pre-reqs for their intended major.
keep us posted everyone, success or failure!
Just asked and UT leaves for Thanksgiving break on Tuesday!
Absolutely agreed, TroianBacon! And if past transfer years are any indication, some decisions are also sent out during the break.
Must be a lot of traffic on MyStatus. It usually opens and refreshes instantly. Just now it took five long seconds for it to open, and a “Site Can’t Be Reached” prompt showed for a fraction of a second before the page appeared.
I’m pathetic! Is a brief blip on the server really newsworthy?? Who knows. But it made my heart drop for a nanosecond. So pathetic!
@BenDubbed I didn’t know UT released decisions during breaks. Does that mean they have people working the admissions office in between breaks?
I’ve read/heard two explanations: One, key Admissions Office staff don’t take a long break. Their work continues, especially this time of year. Two, decisions are made, the decisions are posted on MyStatus pages but aren’t released until a preset date and time. This second method doesn’t require anyone’s actual presence when the decisions are released.
No one was sure whether these decisions were outliers, a trickle, or a wave. Just one of the many quirks and puzzles we mere mortals will never know for sure.
That makes sense. I bet they have already made their decisions for transfer applicants. I’m dying to know already.
Yep, definitely dying over here not knowing! I did decide not to go through with orientation at UNT, though. I’m just not impressed with the campus and quality of instruction overall. If you’re a music major, it’s a great choice. But for pre-law English/Rhetoric/Writing, UT Austin is my one and only.
Maybe there will be a wave tomorrow?
Let’s hopes so!
Ditto. Or today would be nice, too, what with them not wanting to be predictable and all that.
Lots of emotion and high drama on the other UT Spring transfer forums today – nerves and patience are reaching breaking points. Understandably so, of course, given how the clock’s ticking down.
Someone on the Discord just got into COLA for Urban Studies. The wave is here!!!
@Troianbacon Do you know their stats?
Their stats were:
3.87 GPA
45 hours
2 essays
3 LORs
Pretty sure that person was @ceeeeeeej.
