I am a junior with a 5.1 out of 6 gpa. Im attending a very academic driven school in Houston called Clements High School. I would really like to attend UT austin but I know its very hard and I have very slim chances since im not in the top 10%. What are some tips and suggestions to do with my application procees to increase my chances.
UT puts a lot of weight on rank, so i’d suggest doing everything in your power to raise your gpa before final ranks come out in the fall (try signing up for an easy A honors/AP summer course ? ) and make sure you have strong test scores. UT is much easier to get into if you apply as a fine arts major, so maybe try to do that and then switch majors later on ?
