I am from a middle class family from a little city in China and I am going to attend one of above universities as undergraduate freshman. If just for US news ranking, USC and UTA are at top of list.
But there are some weakness for the two:
USC-high tuition and high expense in LA/ a lot of ricer, which degrades the atmosphere of campus/ a lot of Chinese in LA/ PS. I hear that if the pocket money of a month is not enough 3000 us dollars, you had better not going with girls/ security problem
UTA-public school, which is crowd and personally speaking, I don’t want to have class with 500 people together/ many friends and relatives in US have told me that Texas is a behindhand state and Americans look down it, which is unfavorable for seeking job in the future.
My preference:
1.quite and focusing on academic
2.high ration of teachers to students ( because i cannot stand a class with over 500 people together)
3.worldwide reputation for engineering
4.beatiful campus
5.nice people
6.feeling of belonging
