One of my friends is applying to UTK, and she is using their application, not the CommonApp, which is what I used. She wants to apply before the priority deadline, but is worried about the letters of recommendation from teachers. I told her that as long as she got her application in, UTK should accept supplementary materials, such as letters of recommendation, transcripts, and test scores, for a short while after the deadline. This is based on what I’ve been told by colleges in the past weeks as I’ve been applying myself.
However, I cant find anywhere on the UTK website to confirm this. Does anyone know for sure about this wiggle room? Whether it exists and if so, how long it lasts?
I also told her that on the CommonApp, letters of recommendation were not required, so I would imagine that they would not be required on UTK’s application either. She seems to think they are, but since I did not use that system I’m not sure.
