<p>It’s all semantics. That 14% increase is about $2k BUT is locked in for four years. Current students are grandfathered. This represents a smaller increase then instate UVa if they held the same for four years, and there’s no guarantee (esp given the move towards differential tuition surcharges). Their OOS students have a 3% increase this year, no price lock. They are using a different model, but everyone is raising prices. I am in no way arguing one model over the other. They are very different universities with different needs. Approaching this differently is to be expected. My point is a 14% increase isn’t a lot when taken in context.</p>
