UVa denies Request to Host Obama

The Pavilion was packed. My school was one of the ones in the area not dismissing early, so my colleagues and I were among the last admitted at 2:55. I have to wonder if we could have packed a larger venue–there were people begging for tickets outside the gates. I concur with Dean J–the flags did seem to be the ones for “Paint the Town Orange.” I was happy to see a fair number of students (including some elementary, middle and high school students) in attendance. Probably not quite as many college students as would have been in attendance if the event were held on grounds, but since there was no room to move, it will be reported as a well attended event:). Having it at the Pavilion opened up to the community, and it was nice to see the diversity.

Ah, that makes sense. What I saw were multiple slot holders filled with UVa flags. Surprised they were put up so early for Friday’s event, given that the Pavilion is not secured normally,

Busy week in C’ville. Parking is all taken north of the mall tomorrow for media covering the Hughuely sentencing. Then Friday’s Paint the Town.
