which one is better- UVA or Emory?
in terms of biology, etc etc etc.

as far as the education quality of biology, I would say both are about the same level.

In biology, I would say Emory. They have a great program as well as the use of the CDC Headquarter’s labs (which is located like 30 seconds walking)

Emory. Emory is one of the best pre-med schools in the country.

Undeniably Emory’s proximity to the CDC is not a bad thing for its pre-med program. I am not sure, however, how this benefits the average pre-med student; I’m assuming that only a select few get internships there, which are probably also given to many non-Emory students.

Nurjahan,

I think you need to be more specific about what you’re looking for. It’s like you’re asking, “Which is better? A hot dog or a burger?”

What do you want from your college experience? Do you want to live in a big city or a big town? Why do you want to know about Biology? Are you planning to go to med school? Are you looking to do research?

Keep in mind that picking a school based one 1 major can be short-sighted. People change their majors often. Plus, so much of what makes college great is what happens outside of the classroom.

Have you visited both schools? Perhaps that should be your first step. Listening to people who are probably only familiar with one of the school’s programs (if that at all) would be giving you a very myopic view.
