Collegein07,

I was running to work, so I wasn’t able to include this other info. You mentioned that you wanted to know more about financial aid. Well, here are some links to UVA’s financial aid program, Access UVA. If your family income is less than $37,500 for a family of 4, you will be eligible for a full-ride at UVa. If your income is higher than that, the amount of financial aid you will get will depend on your FAFSA score. Supposedly, your need-based loans won’t exceed more than 1 year’s in-state cost, (which is around $15K) for all 4 years.

You also showed interest in the Jefferson Scholars Program. In a nutshell, Jeff Scholars covers the full cost of attending UVa plus several academic enrichment activities and leadership seminars for all 4 years at UVa, along w/ summer travel opportunities w/ fellow Jeff Scholars the summer between your 3rd & 4th years. If your school falls within one of the “scholarship regions”, your school will have to nominate you. Each school can only nominate 1 graduating senior. If you’re outside of the regions (including international students), no worries - you are still eligible. The Admissions Office picks out outstanding applicants from outside the nominating regions and suggests them to the Jeff Scholars program which is run by the UVa Alumni Association.
