UVA OOS, Georgetown, UNC OOS

Interested in hearing whether y’all could give me your thoughts:

SAT: Math: 620 CR: 800 Writing: 680
GPA UW: 4.0 Weighted: 4.913
Class Rank: 22 out of 356
AP: Human Geography: 3, Macroeconomics: 5, Language: 5, Environmental Science: 5, Chemistry: 3
EC: Not many, I’m a senior class executive for Student Council, Vice President of PR for NHS, and a State Champion for both club and high school soccer.
If it matters, I’m a white male coming from an upper middle class family in South Carolina.

Will you be recruited at all with soccer? If not, your EC’s are very weak. For OOS, EC’s are the key to make yourself stand out. The SAT score is near the 70th percentile, so that is a small plus. The UW GPA is obviously good, but that weighted GPA will change a ton when colleges recalculate it (only 5 AP’s means that you took many Honors classes which count as half the credit when colleges recalculate). AP scores can also make you stand out among the OOS crowd, and your scores average a 4.2. This is another small plus, but it’s not going to give you a huge advantage. What is your intended major? Have you done any volunteering/EC’s in the field of said passion. This can help immensely. With that being said and with the current information, your UVA OOS chances are a high reach (maybe 15% chance of acceptance). Georgetown is probably about the same, and UNC is maybe a 5% chance due to how difficult OOS is there. Hope I could help; good luck.

Weak SATs, reaches for all 3.

I know my EC’s are weak…it sounds like whining, but soccer does take up a lot of time. Unfortunately for me, all three schools are giants in the college soccer scene.

I do plan on taking 5 AP’s next year (senior year) and they’ll no doubt be A’s.

Would bumping my SAT into the 700 range make it drastically different? It’s definitely doable, I didn’t really study for the SAT I took.

Be aware that Georgetown requires the SAT II (subject tests) as well
