Any hooks? I centered my application around the arts, even though I am planning on going into public policy. Since my ECs demonstrated my interest in politics, I decided to show a different side of myself in essays. Wrote about a piece of art that changed me and about how I’d like to examine the ways in which we learn history for UVA supplements; common app essay was on music.
Were you deferred from early action? No.

Thoughts on why you received that decision: Honestly, I think it’s because I am a strong writer and clearly showed admissions what I care about and WHY. Admissions are a gamble though: some very intelligent people I know were waitlisted/denied. I hope everyone finds a school that is a good fit for them!
