I realize that this may be a bit late given that the applications were due several weeks ago, but I am setting this thread up as a means for myself and other students to discuss transferring to the University of Virginia (UVA).
I am an in-state student with the hope of transferring into the college of arts and sciences. I was unable to get off of the wait-list in June and decided to reapply. I have a 3.6 GPA with 62 credit hours and a number of extracurricular activities; this fall, I am gaining work experience that revolves around one of my majors, political science. I spent two years at a state school in Virginia and am leaving for the larger community and academic opportunities at UVA. I have three recommendations – one from work and two from counselors – and am optimistic that I have what it takes to get in come December 1st. A potential shortcoming could be my lack of adherence to completing my general education requirements.
Share your stats (if you want to) and which school you would like to end up in!

I think you have a great chance as well! You certainly have excellent grades and extracurricular activities. I am interested in law, though I’m not certain that is what I will pursue after college. That is very cool about working on Florida’s second court of appeals, by the way. Fingers crossed for us in December
So, check this out. I got an e-mail from UVA today inviting me to go to a virtual chat? I thought that was really weird, so I went onto SIS and saw my decision had been made already, so I clicked “view decision,” and of course it said “Decisions are not available until December 1.” BUT! On the Virginia.askadmissions.net website, where it says “my UVA, my application” with two checkmarks beside it, there is now a third box! That says “Accept Offer of Admission.” WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?! Why must they torture us so!
I have no idea @Caintpau, but that sounds like a good indicator of things to come (hopefully)! I will check my SIS later today to find out if they’ve done that for my application. Keep me posted
