UVa vs. Smith Engineering

Hello!
I’m choosing between Smith College and the University of Virginia and plan on going into engineering. In terms of a final B.S. degree, how do they compare? Also, which program would be better for a female engineering who’s uncertain of exactly which type of engineering she wants to go into?

I feel like Smith will have a better support system in terms of learning the material, but UVa’s engineering program is better.

Anything else on the two engineering schools is also greatly appreciated!

I’m going to Smith next year to study engineering and what attracts me is

 1. The all women environment
 2. The focus on sustainability
 3. How all engineering majors must also commit their time to the humanities through a minor or doing Latin honors (a course in each of the listed subjects, like art, literature, social science, etc)

But smith is radically different from UVA in terms on the social setting, so I suggest you look into that further if you wish to make a sound decision

good luck
