@Uw20166 I’m an international transfer from the University of Oslo, what about you? I applied for CS.

I ended up choosing UW-Madison over Washington because I couldn’t take the delay any longer. I thought I was prepared to wait it out, but in the end I felt that I had too much at stake and wasn’t guaranteed a place in Comp Eng anyway. All the best to all of you still waiting for the decisions!

My unofficial transcript loaded today and I’m seriously shaking from all the excitement! I don’t wanna get my hopes up too high though. I checked the mail today and I didn’t get a letter yet. Has anyone’s unofficial transcript loaded and not been accepted?

@denisedeladela
Same here!!!
My transcript finally loaded today, but I have not received the letter.

@potatomawnster I did the same for WSU. I haven’t registered for classes yet though. I’d still rather go to UW, but the waiting is killing me.

Hey Guys!

Funny story, after stressing myself to pieces as soon as the calendar hit June, I have been obsessively checking myUW for any sign of hope! So today, I stumbled upon the unofficial transcript idea, saw it wasn’t loading, stressed some more, and turned to the good old google for some moral support and found this incredible thread!

About an hour ago, I was about to give it all up, when I hit the unofficial transcript link again and SAW THAT IT LOADED!!! It shows my student ID, class standing, college, and major! I know this is by no means an official reason to celebrate, but I am hoping against all hopes after what I read here today that the news is, in fact, good!

So my question to you experienced folks out there: is there a way of knowing if I am being offered acceptance or being wait-listed? Obviously I know the letter is the only way to know for sure (duh); I’m looking for some good feels here! Has anyone had a transcript load only to find out they on the wait list?

Thanks all!!

For those of you who got accepted, congrats!!
So happy for you!

If u dont mind can you share your stats?

Haha as happy as I am for everyone… this makes me feel worried cuz mine isnt loading… :(

@nornorbalina When you get your transcript to load, it implies that you are already accepted. This is because you are given a student ID. Waitlisted students will not get a loaded transcript b/c they are technically not a student yet. The only time when the transcript trick doesn’t work is if you were a non-matriculated student at the UW or were accepted/attending another UW campus.

Congrats to everyone who got their transcripts loaded! I hope mine will soon too.

@Working4UW ditto. :/

My transcript has been loaded for awhile since I was accepted to UW Tacoma. It still lists Tacoma and I’m wondering if it will change and give me any early indication of being accepted by Seattle. Has anybody had any past experience being accepted into multiple campuses?

@potatomawnster Thanks for the info! I was hoping that was the case, leave it to me to try and fish out any chance of disappointment, your reassurance is greatly appreciated

@Working4UW No problem! My stats will likely make many of you feel better because they are extremely unimpressive I saw some killer stats on here which was super disheartening, but it seems I might have had something good going despite my GPA!

Transfer from CC with AA, AS, and Associate in Biology
GPA ~3.05
Intended major is Biology (molecular, cellular, and developmental)
As for personal statement content, I have quite a bit of civil service and volunteer time so that might have weighed positively in my favor.

I haven’t applied to my intended department yet, but I would like to do what I can to raise my GPA to at least make myself more academically competitive.

So like I said, I hope my abysmal GPA is encouraging to some of you!!! That was my biggest concern, considering all the awesome GPAs I saw posted and how competitive the UW actually is due to the sheer volume of applicants. I didn’t think I had a shadow of a chance! I wasn’t encouraged when I got acceptance letters from Saint Martin’s and PLU either because those private universities don’t see a fraction of the applications the UW does.

Good luck everyone, I know how hard it is to not beat yourself up with the anxiety Hang in there!

I haven’t gotten my unofficial to load up yet either, I guess I have to wait some more :(( but in all seriousness congrats to all of those that have been accepted and I saw somewhere else on here that someone suggested to do a meet up of all of those on college confidential. I personally think it is a great idea since we have become like a community on here to support everyone in this terribly long wait. If anyone else would be interested in meeting up at a later time at UW once classes start I would be interested, even if I don’t get accepted. Now fingers crossed and good luck to the rest of us that are waiting :-SS

when i checked my uw this morning, my unofficial transcript didnt load. i checked my mail box and there was no decision letter either. i just checked my uw again after reading this thread and my transcript loads now. omg. i was accepted to my major, chemistry, on may 9th. the unofficial transcript says pre-science major though. good luck, everyone.

Congrats @longhornedhusky !!!

My transcript loaded today!!! I was completely shocked. I have been so used to seeing that “page does not respond” thing that I was caught off guard. I logged off and checked again just to make sure!! So everyone should continue to check! I checked my transcript at 8 am and it didn’t load. I checked at 10 and it didn’t load. Then at 11 and it loaded!!! I know its stressful but I think everyone should expect results shortly!!

My transcript just loaded!!!
I found it really helpful looking back at old posts/boards with stats and situation explanations so everyone should post theirs also :)

Transfer from in-state CC with AA-DTA and planned major is Psychology.
GPA at time of application- 3.6 with GPA in prerequisites for major - 3.7
First generation for 4 year college, teen mom and have a child with a disability. I have little to no extracurriculars due to my family situations but I felt like I wrote a really good essay.

Good luck to everyone still waiting! I know the wait is torture.

Anyone get their official letter yet? My unofficial transcript loaded yesterday and I got nothing in the mail today. So anxious. Hopefully tomorrow!

I just got my unofficial transcript to load, it said it was prepared an hour ago. It lists me as pre-Arts and Sciences and gives my high school info. For anyone else with a loaded transcript, is the “Time Prepared” fixed to a certain time?

I know that my stats will help some of you a little, so here are my stats:

3.4 transfer GPA at time of application
Will get an AAS-DTA by end of spring
Applied with 95 transferable credits (115 by autumn)
First-Generation and low income
Asian-American (if that matters)
Have all the prerequisites for intended major, ACMS, by autumn
ECs: Been on the wrestling team in HS for two years, helped coached a wrestling team, and was a math tutor for 6 months at BC.

For the personal statement, I wrote about how I spent the time at Bellevue College growing away from my past. In HS, I barely graduated with a 2.2 GPA. While I acknowledged my gradual improvement, I also said that there is still much room for improvement.

In hindsight, there were factors that had hurt my overall application. For instance, I only had two credits of a foreign language instead of the suggested three for Arts and Sciences, and two withdraws. In addition, I also embarrassingly misspelled “prerequisites” with “prequisites” on my personal statement.

Congrats on those who made it in. So far, I don’t think anyone for fall in this thread has been rejected yet. Statistically speaking, most of us here are going to be accepted. For those who are still waiting, there is still plenty of decisions to be made yet. By the way, I’m glad I’ve been here for the last several months; it has helped me cope with the anxiety and has given me significant insight into the whole process. Now that I’ve given my Oscar speech, I wish the best of luck for the others who are still waiting.
