I think others have covered the CS issues pretty well, so I suggest she also take a look at the Creative Writing options. If she has any interest in genre writing many departments are not friendly at all.
I don’t know that much about W&M, my son considered it for IR, but decided based on the website photos it looked too preppy! Since we were trying to cull the list, and I wasn’t looking forward to figuring out how to get to that part of VA, we didn’t argue.
