Our academic and research reps are extremely strong, built over centuries of greatness. We don’t rely on rankings to inform or remind us.
That said, a larger research budget makes it more likely that we’ll make that next big Nobel-worthy breakthrough, so that’s good.

I felt it underplayed the current actual accomplishment and just added BS about times past. When the rankings dropped UW went into full fire drill mode. They were not happy and relying on the rep from past decades. Reps can be lost very quickly these days.
Oh, okay. I might be a bit too much of a cheerleader/PR rep for UW then. hehe
