Not sure how I feel about this, but I’d like to have my apps turned in within the next week. Any suggestions?

There is a song that says it goes by so slowly…as a freshman, I thought it would, too, but it has not. As I write this essay, I am stricken by how quickly it has passed. Time. Time is the element of my life that goes unnoticed but is overwhelmingly important.
I consider the time I have spent preparing myself for the future. How many hours I have spent doing homework, how many chapters and books I have read, how many papers I have written. The time I have spent waiting for my grade reports, my ACT scores, the feedback on an important test or project. Did I really put in enough time? Could I have had better scores or grades had I put in more time? What was I doing with the extra time, and was it worth it?
I was with my friends, doing things I love to do, making the most of my short time in high school. I have had the same group of friends all through high school. We have gone to all the dances together, experienced college visits, attended Lollapalooza, spent weekends at the lake. We have suffered through upsets together, disappointments, arguments, parental discipline. Did I spend enough time that they will remain my friends when we all go our separate ways? Do we have enough time left to do all the things we wish we had done earlier?
Have I spent enough time with my family? I cant imagine not being around them. But the time with them has proved to me that I can do it. The time I have spend with the people who mean the world to me has shown me that I am ready to go off on my own. I know that college is where I belong and they know it, too. I have proven it to not only my family but to myself. But the time…is there enough time to get ready? Is there enough time to let them know just how much I appreciate all they have done for me?
Can I balance all of this in the time that I have left? And then what of the time that becomes all my own? That is the most daunting aspect of going away to school for me. I look forward to the academics, of becoming what I have chosen, of taking those steps. But what will I do with all of that time? Only time will tell, I suppose.
