Do they give campus IDs to deferred students as well?

Yeah, I received a campus ID number in my deferral notice.

I was deferred

Deferred

Does anyone know the chance of acceptance after deferral?

From my understanding, it all depends how many students who were offered admission accept their admission. For instance, my friend and myself were accepted to transfer this fall and I already accepted my offer, but she is still waiting to hear by from her top school. Furthermore, if she gets accepted there then she will ultimately deny her admission to Madison, thus a spot opening up for a deferred student.
Otherwise maybe they want to see your spring grades, and then make a decision.

Acceptance after deferral is dependent on your spring term grades and any other additional material you wish to submit. What deferment essentially means is you have the potential to be a good student at UW-Madison, but for one reason or another they’d like to see more information from you regarding your current semester. I was deferred from the priority transfer decision date and I sent in a letter of continued interest, an additional letter of recommendation, and in two weeks I will be sending my spring term grades. This doesn’t seem to be contingent on whether or not individuals who were accepted choose to go to UW or not. That would be more of a waitlist situation, and transfer admissions do not do a waitlist.

Did you receive any notice back after your sent in your letter of interest?

@nervousboi when you send in additional materials you email them directly to admissions and they are added to your file for the admissions committee to look at when they reevaluate your application. I received acknowledgement of receipt and was told it would be added to my application file but that was all.

Has anyone who was deferred sent in final grades yet? My daughter is anxiously awaiting and answer.

@jajone I just sent grades in today. They’ll most likely wait until the June 1st end date for submissions and then release the offers in waves. That’s what I’ve seen done in previous years.

Just submitted my grades today. I think in 2017 some people heard before Memorial Day, but I have no idea what will apply this year. I’m a bit nervous myself as I only had a 3.4 this semester due to a B in Chemistry and an 18 credit sem. Cumulatively I have a 3.6 with 35 credits, but I’m apprehensive… good luck to everyone!

Does everyone still have their transfer tabs?
