I think it’s important to point out that every admissions cycle is a little different, every year. It’s entirely possible that the similarities up to this point are coincidental. I think we should stay optimistic until/if we receive a hard ‘no’
I called the admission office today too. I asked them if they notify instate applicants first but they said no. The decisions are sent out in random orders.
@lmt1610 I agree its entirely possible that the similarities up to this point are coincidental. And I hope they are! Wishing us both luck lmt1610… Is anyone else still waiting?
@JeanUjean what are your stats if you dont mind me asking. Did you apply from an instate CC?
Also I called admissions and they said the same thing I just thought it was odd the majority of people from last years thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-washington/2094439-uw-transfer-winter-2019.html and this years had transcript load on november 5…
@MS182347 I’m an oos freshman applicant. My unweighted gpa is 3.95 and sat score is 1420. I don’t know about transfer applicant but I read somwhere that freshman applicants were notified in late December couple years ago…
@JeanUjean this is the winter transfer thread. Dates, I mentioned above were targeted towards what was happening with winter transfers so are not applicable to you it sounds like. Your stats seems very good though so I would not worry. Good Luck!
@JeanUjean Freshman applicants usually find out the first week of March. I applied last year as a freshman and got my decision in early March.
For the transfer applicants who haven’t heard back yet, before I got in I noticed on MyUW when I went to my profile it said for my major, Beginning Winter 2020 Pre-Architecture. A few hours later I got the official acceptance. I am taking classes as a non-matriculated student so the transcript trick didn’t work for me. If you have a similar situation maybe check your profile as well. Good Luck!
@rzwa12 You are right that freshman who apply for fall admission recieve decisions from March through May but I applied for winter 2020 so I must hear back by December. Winter freshman admission is unusual but Udub is one of few colleges that accept winter freshman applicants.
@JeanUjean I had no idea you could apply as a freshman for the winter quarter! Anyways good luck to you!
Has anyone gotten a response since the first batch went out? I still haven’t heard anything and this is starting to feel a little ridiculous.
@lmt1610 I still have not heard anything either. Have you heard of any in state transfer students getting in after the November 5? To be honest I thought I had a pretty good shot here coming from in state cc and having a 3.83. I wrote a good essay as well and I did not submit test scores so I am not sure what could be the reasoning for a denial here. Well hopefully there are still more acceptances to come. Good luck to you and everyone else who is still waiting.
