I have to choose a college for under-graduation by May 1, 2016
I am an international student. I have got admits from the colleges UWash, Penn State, UMass Amherst and UC, Irvine for undergraduation. Computer science is the choice of my major.
It is clear that UWash is the best college for computer science but I don’t have a direct admission into computer science for any of these colleges. I know that getting into CS in UWash is very difficult and they are very selective therefore I have less interest in attending UWash. I am very much interested in CS and so strictly want computer science to be my major
My priority is to get into the best college/ university in CS major.
Please guide.
Do you have direct admission to CS at any of the other schools?
No, however I got the following message from UMass, “You were admitted to the College of Information and Computer Science’s Exploratory Track. This major is by invitation only, and meant to provide special advising from the CS staff as well as a small First Year Seminar in CS. Getting into the Computer Science major is straight forward, and based solely on the academic performance at UMass Amherst. The major is looking for B+ work in Math 131 (Calc I), Math 132 (Calc II), CS 121 (Java), and CS 187 (Data Structures). A student also needs to have a 3.0 or higher. (Please see information on admission to the Computer Science major once on campus.)”
