Va Tech Engineering Chances?

Trying to get into Va tech Engineering…regular decision.

Also I am Out of State and my mom attended Tech

GPA: 97.130 Weighted
SAT: 1970 (2400 Scale)
SAT MATH: 770
SAT CR: 590
SAT WR: 610

SAT II Math 2: 770
SAT II Chemistry: 770

AP Chemistry: 4
AP Language: 4

Current Senior AP’s: AP Calculus BC, AP Physics C, AP Stats

Extracurricular: Eagle Scout, NHS, Science NHS, Woodshop, Stage Crew, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Concert Band, Made it into County and Regions for Trumpet, Youth Group, Play trumpet in Music Ministry at church weekly, participate in a summer music concert series, 300+ Hours Community Service

Work: Camp Counselor for Cub Scout camp during summer, landscaping year round (snow and lawns), Tutoring

Was supposed to retake SAT’s Nov 3 but was affected by Hurricane Sandy…looking to raise my CR grade and I have been studying. Only took SAT one time in the Spring of my Jr Year.

Your SAT Math is very impressive (Im jealous lol) but try to work on CR. Out of state can be hurtful, but you’re a legacy so that helps a lot. Your SATIIs reinforce your academic focus, so that will help you as well, but you don’t really have leadership in your ECs. Overall though, If your essays are strong and you increase your CR score, you have a really strong chance at Tech.

Chance me back?

Thank you. I didn’t mention leadership positions — forgot that. Most have been with scouting and various positions I held over the years.
