I used to have a Miele canister and I really liked it, but it was so darned heavy to lug around. And the cord had to be dealt with. It did last for many years, with occasional tuneups, but in my “old age” I really wanted an easy peasy vacuum. My Dyson may not be as sturdy, but it was less than half the price of a new Miele so if I need to buy two…so be it! I find that I grab the vacuum all the time to do quick cleanups and pet hair maintenance. The Miele, on the other hand, was more of a production to use.
