Vag scholar research

Does anyone know how accessible the “research” is that is required of vag scholars during the summers and at different times? Would we be expected to just independently find and conduct our own research?

I went to a meeting with the program director Ponzi Lu, and he basically said that every lab is open if youre a vag scholar. You just need to approach him, he’ll make a couple phone calls, and you’ll be in. He’s kind of a big deal ;).

So yeah…the answer to your question is: very accessible.

***… you’re a vagina scholar?

Well not entirely true…

Yes PonzY Lu is a very big deal on campus, but that’s mainly because he’s a cranky, old ■■■■■■■ who’s not afraid to say anything or offend anyone.

Anyway, if you’re a Vag scholar it does open up a lot of doors that wouldn’t normally be opened otherwise, but it’s still not like you can get into ANY lab. I have a few Vagelos friends who weren’t able to get into their first choice labs - sometimes the lab is just too full.

I, myself, am an ex-Vag, but still a Biochemistry major. I decided to keep Ponzy Lu as my advisor mainly because he…errr…Leslie (his equally forceful and brazen secretary) get’s **** done. Leslie and I are best buds now and I go to her with any problems I have. Usually she picks up the phone and *****es someone out until she gets me what I want. To date she’s gotten me into a few classes and my research lab. If she can’t handle it then I go to Ponzy.
