Vagelos LSM?

I’m curious to know how much research experience would play a role in being selected for this program. I currently have 3 summers worth of research experience (approximately 900 hours) and this summer will make it 4 summers (approx 1200 hours, and yes I’m sitting in my lab right now lol). Also, do most of the LSM admittees have business experience? Something like starting up their own business and making decent profits?

I’m not sure if I’m a good source, but I applied and got in ED this past fall to the Vagelos LSM program! I had one summer research internship (around 200 hours) and my only business experience was with DECA (extracurricular). So no start-up or profits.

First off, congratulations!!! In your research internship did you get any of your work published or get your name on a paper? Just curious

Thanks! I did create a video that summed up my work at the end of the internship, but no actual published paper. But I do know some of my peers were heavily involved in research (as in, more than the one summer internship I did), were in ISEF (I’m not really sure what that is, but I guess it has something to do with Intel?), were involved with “bioGENius” (no clue what that is either), etc. Just find your passion and follow it!

I see, god I wish I understood what I was doing in my lab earlier. Oh well, but thanks for the information.

Of course! Good luck!
