Vagelos Program Question

I was reading the FAQ’s about the Vagelos Program and was confused by this:

“12. Can I apply Early Decision?
Students who apply early decision will be reviewed at the same time as regular decision students. Should they qualify, they will be informed at the same time as regular decision students, approximately one week after regular admission letters are sent in April.”

I’m planning to apply ED to Penn’s Vagelos Program. Does that mean that on December 15th:

I won’t get notification about either getting admitted/deferred/denied into either UPenn or the program?

I’ll get notification about being admitted/deferred/denied at UPenn, but not about the program until Regular Decision time?

Has ANYONE ever been notified about getting into the program on December 15th?

you’ll receive your ED decision on the 15th, and should you be accepted (either ED or after a deferral to RD), your vagelos program invitation in early april.

thanks!

also, for past applicants to vagelos/ biochem in general, from what subjects did you ask teacher recs from? i know upenn asks for teachers from subjects that you aspire to pursue in college.

i had my French and Calculus teachers write me recs and i got into the program. my chem teacher disappeared my senior year so i couldn’t get him to write me one.

You don’t actually apply for Vagelos MLS only LSM.
