Someone posted somewhere the suggestion to give DDs flowers for Valentine’s Day. I got some for my HS sr (level headed, science kid, only wears clothing with numbers/team names) and soph (mercurial, moody, social, hates school) and put them in their rooms while they were sleeping. Younger one comes down smiling, happy: “No one has given me flowers before”. Score one for Dad, who generally can do nothing right by this kid. So thanks for the suggestion.

I wish I’d seen the suggestion. I gave my boys heart-shaped tins filled with chocolate. Flowers would have been better!

ooooooooooooooooh, BEAUTIFUL!!! What a great daddy you are! :)

Sent D a care package with brownies, candy, and heart-covered socks and underwear (our care package tradition).

S (high school junior) got candy, a movie, and silk boxers with hearts on them. He blushed, but made sure he wore them to school today!!!

I have always given my kids underwear/boxers and socks for VD day also, as has a friend of mine. This year my friend’s college age daughters both have steady boyfriends. When she went to Victoria Secret to pick out some panties, she found them all too sexy. You have to understand that they sell the same panties all the time, but for some reason she had a problem buying these really cute panties for her girls with boyfriends!! When they were un attached she had no problem, but this year was different!

Snowball, I can relate. D also has a steady boyfriend at the same school (great kid; we love him). I can’t bring myself to buy her underwear from Victoria’s Secret either. Always go to Kohl’s or JCPenney. Somehow they seem less “sexy” when purchased from those places!
