Did anyone send anything creative to your S or D away at school? My D will go away next year and I want to start thinking of fun, creative gifts that will be reminders of home or something that she loves but cannot easily get in college. Any suggestions will be great.

Girl Scout cookies. Dearth of Thin Mint pushers on college campuses. :)

Girl Scout cookies have been a hit with my D, too. I sent a DVD and valentine candy she could share with her friends. Last year I sent a pink scarf, nail polish, & shower gel. Quality & frequency of care packages has declined since freshman year!

I found a very cute make up bag…a bag of Valentine’s Reece’s went inside, and all fit in a small fixed rate box.

I sent a giant Hershey’s kiss which was filled with bags of regular Hershey’s kisses. It was a big hit with college boy. Lots kisses for him and enough to share.

sent cookies and milk from [College Care Packages | $.99 Shipping on Valentine’s Day Packages! | Healthy Choices care packages | Gift baskets for college students with awesome food and beverages - From Mom](http://www.from-mom.com) - kid thought it was adorable!

Last year I sent homemade heart-shape Rice Krispies treats (sons favorite). This year I ordered him brownies from a bakery near campus that does delivery.

D is sick (again…) so her box included not only a few sweet treats but also some nuke-and-eat noodle soup. It was a busy shipping week, as I had to get her “vegetarian fish fry” to her on Tuesday – sent a homemade King cake w/baby and beads (apparently, last year’s survived the mailing a little prettier, but this year’s was still delicious!) and bags of Swedish fish and goldfish crackers. Now I’m trying to think up something for opening night of the mainstage play (we’re going up first weekend to see it, but will not be there for opening night). Title is “The Water Station.” Creative ideas, anyone? Opens on Thursday…so we’ve got to think fast!

Last year I sent him a small box of Cheryl’s cookies…very popular cc item…for $9.99 and this year I chose a gift through the college’s student services for $12. He appreciated both…I’ve been giving my children Valentine’s gifts since they were very young and didn’t want to stop just because older one is now in college! :)
