For those with sons who are in a relationship, I can assure you that a card with a $bill attached will never be considered intrusive!

D reported that the Costco chocolate-covered strawberries were delicious!

(And I also sent her a package of Costco kiwis along with other goodies in a flat-rate box which only took 2 days to get to the other coast! Woo-hoo, I know I’m pushing the limits, but I’ll try shipping blueberries next!)

My daughter is a socks kid, so I sent her a pair of jeans-colored socks with little hearts all over, along with a little box of chocolate and some money–she loved everything!

bunsenburner - mine reported the same, too. They were very surprised, and extremely grateful. Wish I had sent some to myself!

Just hit the send button on an Amazon gift card. I hope it will cheer her up about the RA position she didn’t get.

So any new ideas this year? I’ve been assembling goodies this weekend for Valentines care packages but no wow factor… yet.

Funny, but my ds likes something that makes for a fun door decoration. For Halloween, I sent a string of skeletons that they hung. :)

I always send Girl Scout cookies!

Chipotle gift card

I do the Girl Scout cookies too! And yummy popcornopolis popcorn.

Presents are so fun! They don’t have to be expensive either. A simple v-day gift will give that kid, who is so far away in college, a little taste of home. It can also mean continuing a tradition.

There really doesn’t need a reason to send a care package. Every kid, no matter what age, will appreciate some goodies from home. There are so many little ways to make kids feel loved from afar.

Cookies, made by mom, are always appreciated. Whatever special sweet that is a staple at home will be a big hit when it goes through the mail. Especially since the kids are probably homesick after going back to school from winter break.

Even small and silly gifts will be something that make a kid feel the love all the way from home. A pair of silly socks or goofy boxers along with a package of kid style valentines treats will make anyone recipient smile and feel like a hug from the mail.

Wow! My first response on this thread was when my D2 was a first year and D1 was junior. Now D2 is a senior and this will be my last Valentine care package to one of my kids in college. D1 has graduated and is living in Manhatten working at a super job.

So I just started thinking today about what to send. Given it is her last semester, maybe a piece of jewelry from qvc. They also have some interesting food items.

Wil probably also send a box of silly things. D2 does not have a boyfriend but has lots of friends to do things with. Sent her a Halloween wine goblet. Maybe there is a Valentine one. She is 21. Candy, cute socks, decorations, pj bottoms are all good ideas.

I’ll probably be sending things to kids until I can start sending to grand kids!
