Validation exam / Advanced Standing - is there a difference?

<p>Hello,
I took mechanics and E&M with calc my senior year, at our local university. I was wondering if it benefits me at all to send in the information required for transfer credit.</p>

<p>basically says that if I apply for transfer credit, I’ll be taking a “validation exam” which, also according to the page, is the same as an Advanced Standing exam.</p>

<p>Should I send in the materials required for transfer credit? It seems that it doesn’t matter if I take the validation exam or the advanced standing exam, but I might be missing something.</p>

<p>Mmm… I can’t edit my original post anymore, so I had to double post.</p>

<p>Just to be clear, I’ve already sent in the materials for math transfer credit, because credit can be awarded without an exam for math classes. I’m just curious about the Physics.</p>

<p>some ppl i know speculate that maybe you can score lower on the validation exam and still pass? that doesn’t seem right though, so i’m not entirely sure. i just know that when i took it, it felt really pointless to bring in my materials to the transfer credit examiner over and over even though i took the same test as everyone else</p>
