Validity of an MBA after around 10 years upon graduation

Hi all,

I graduated from a reputable Midwestern university around 10 years ago with an MBA degree. Soon after without applying for any job, I came back to my home country and started working here. If I get lucky and win an immigrant visa (aka green card) from the lottery (which will give me the right to live/work/study…etc in the US w/o an H1 visa) do you think that my MBA from the past will help me land a job in New Jersey/New York or would it have no effect as I have not been in the US for 10 years and don’t have any US work experience.

your opinions are highly appreciated.

I think (or rather hope) that an MBA after 10 years would be overshadowed by my accomplishments after graduating…

I think employers would be interested to know what you’ve been doing during that time…

Exactly. If you have relevant work experience, it shouldn’t matter whether it was overseas or not. If you don’t have relevant work experience, then I’d question how valuable your MBA has been for the past 10 years and why you would expect it to be any different now.
