Will the network from getting a Macc from USC, Michigan, or UVA help me out post-CPA when I want to change industries to finance or consulting?

I’d be interested to hear people’s opinions on this as well.

i would be interested in this as well!

That all depends. The key consideration here is where you end up and where your classmates end up. If you are all dispersed across the country after graduation, your network will dry up relatively quickly. However, if you all mostly stay in the same city then the network could be very powerful indeed.

So if you were attending a university in NYC, Chicago, or LA, I would say the network alone is worth it so long as you intend to stay in the city where you studied. However for the unis you mentioned I would recommend having a look at a list of where the last 3-4 classes of graduates are now working (geographically) to see if the destinations are concentrated enough to constitute a viable social and professional network for the long term.
