<p>Alumni interviews are usually not worth much; they’re a way for the college to keep alumni involved. Since they are so arbitrary depending on the interviewer, anything can happen, they by no way guarantee admission. They usually don’t hurt you either.</p>

<p>Trust me when I say that you couldn’t have made a worse first impression than I did on my interviewer…And yet, it worked out for the best.</p>
<p>well i got home a few minutes after the message was left for me, so i called back immediately, thinking i’d get a person. i got an answering machine. and never fail, when something’s important, my brain doesn’t function too quickly. “uh…hi…this is…uh…i’m calling about college…um…so yeah…”</p>
<p>That sounds exactly like something I would do…</p>
