Linked to what email? Thanks!
Counselor’s e-mail address.
My bro does NOT have a counselor with email, so I’m feeling a little sad about that. Could be a thing? And yes, he applied for FA
We filled out CSS but not FAFSA, if that makes a difference with not having the email.
Would be interesting, though, if after the fact people came back and were able to correlate their admissions decision and that potential indicator. My daughter applied RD and for FA and does not have a counselor’s email listed. Maybe it’s a new thing.
Wonder if anyone who has already been accepted noticed this FA “tell”.
Same here. Applied for fin aid. No counselor linked in portal.
I’m holding out hope that most of these things are incorrect. We had one that we thought was a thing and it ended up being false (I can’t remember which school…it’ll come to me later). But if it is, it’s ok. We will live. ![]()
S24 (or more accurately his mother) would not tolerate portal astrology. But we didn’t apply for FA either, so probably not very informative.
Having a counselor/email under the FA tab may simply mean you are getting need-based FA. No need for a counselor to be assigned to you if you were determined to not qualify for need-based aid. Just sayin’.
My brother would need need-based aid. And we don’t see a counselor. So, oof.
Just because you need it unfortunately does not mean you will get it.
I’m just going to call the FA tomorrow. Find out.
what are you going to ask? if the financial aid counselor was not meant to be posted on the portal, they will likely change it once they hear about it.
If a financial aid counselor has been assigned to our application.
Vanderbilt meets 100% of a student’s need based aid (google Opportunity Vanderbilt). They are very generous with FA. I gotta think if you applied for aid, have an assigned counselor, then that’s a very good sign. Yes, probably a glitch not meant to be shown until next week. My older son applied 4 years ago ED, and I don’t believe we saw the assigned counselor until after he was admitted.
True true. So they may as well reject him. Lol
We applied for aid knowing that there is a very unlikely chance we will qualify (based on prior experience). So again, just because you applied doesn’t necessarily mean you will get it.
Of course not, but if you ‘qualified’ you will get FA up to your demonstrated need.
Yea that’s what I’ve heard, that they have excellent aid. That’s why he applied. When they say they’ll meet 100% need, that means my family gets aid! Trust me on this one. ![]()
