Congratulations! I’ve been rooting for your son since the ED1 decisions. All those waitlists were heartbreaking but what a great ending !
Son accepted with full-tuition ‘Academic Achievement Scholarship’ and another ‘Crescere Aude summer merit scholarship’.
OMG I’ve see. All your waitlist posts and have been pulling for you! And what a win! Congrats!

Daughter is waitlisted. #7 now. Not complaining though. not at all. Very grateful to get another, albeit small, second chance. Congrats to all who got in.
S24 rejected. It’s a bit of a bummer but he’s ok.
Does anyone know the acceptance rate of waitlist?
idk the exact number for acceptance rate, but i read something on the “waitlist info” tab that 11% of the grad class last year came from the waitlist.
edit: i reread it. exact wording was “Over the last five years, an average of 11% of our enrolling class of 1,600 has been admitted from the waitlist.” so i guess it depends on how many people this year were waitlisted.
Accepted to Vanderbilt in the College of Arts and Sciences for Biochemistry! Was the portal astrology accurate?
Huge congratulations ! I’ve been reading your path. Celebrate.

SAT 1560, GPA 4/5.33, 15AP.
Very competitive Public High School.
Bio/pre-med.
Last decisions.
Yale REA: Accepted.
Gtech: Accepted - Stamps scholar.
UNC: Accepted.
State school: Accepted.
MIT: Rejected.
Applied to Vanderbilt because they have amazing pre-med and we are full pay so she hoped for a scholarship. Since then, she got Stamps and will probably commit, so it’s rather fair/nice Vanderbilt admit people who actually want to go.
My DS got in Ga Tech EA but we are oos and didn’t get any scholarship money, which is crazy competitive oos Ga Tech. So it was going to be 50k per year. Was an incredible opportunity but out of reach financially. Then he got in ED 2 to Vandy for engineering and the financial aid offer was incredible since we are middle class, so it was Vandy all the way. Ga Tech engineering is incredible and is a peer I would say with MIT, Stanford, Berkeley in engineering. However, no school is worth 200k imho and Vandy engineering is very good. Plus Vandy has other strengths that Tech doesn’t. All the best with the decision for your student—cannot go wrong with either school!
