i was reading about vanderbilt on espn.com; basically it said that if not this year, then when? check it out. and i like all ur predictions.

i have a question. im an incoming freshman this fall, and really like football (i played in high school, and ill keep playing intramural). anyhoo, i want to go to the auburn game. how difficult is it to go to SEC road games?

During the year, the school sends out e-mails saying when they have tickets for road games. Sometimes they even plan roadtrips – last year a bunch of kids traveled to see the Vandy/Michigan game.

Yeah going on that, TheWaffleIron, you will definitely want to get involved with Vandy Fanatics. VF is the student rally committee that basically spearheads all of the VU athletic activities for students. They have the best seats at sporting events on campus and are in charge of the other events like football and basketball roadtrips. It’s not too hard to get tickets for SEC road games, and even if there’s not a “formal” student roadtrip to Auburn, I wouldn’t be surprised if you meet some people your first few weeks here that are just as excited about football as you are that will plan a trip to Auburn.

I know that regardless of whether VF plans a trip, me and a bunch of my buddies will be making the trip to Auburn. It’s only about 4 hours or so from campus so it’s reallly not a bad trip at all.

thanks for the advice guys. i dont think im hardcore enouth to join VF though. i just think its really sweet they play in the SEC. i mean, it wouldnt be cool if they lost, but if it would happen id like to go to auburn, al to see it

lol VF isn’t as die-hard as some other schools fanatic groups are. u can be as die hard as u want, but i know people that are “members” of VF that only go to 1-2 games a year. sorry i didnt clarify that in my previous post… i just brought it up because thats probably the easiest way to get road game tickets.

I’m definitely gonna be making the trip to Auburn next year and I have a friend going there who I can stay with, so that’ll make it a little easier.

All I have to say is don’t get your hopes up.

I’ve been a lifelong Vandy fan and whenever they seem poised to have a good season they manage to mess something up…

Like 2 years ago, they started 4-0 and won 2 more games the rest of the season. Of course one of them was against Tennessee so that was amazing.

Maybe this year they will be able to hold on to a lead. Half of the time they lost before they had a lead going into the fourth quarter and blew it. If they can hold onto a led then I might have high hopes for them.
