Vanderbilt ceased using the term Confederate in association with Memorial Hall almost 15 years ago during S’s undergraduate years, but the pediment still bore the inscription Confederate. Just sharing because I’m pleased they have decided to go ahead and make the payment to the United Daughters of the Confederacy to remove the inscription of this dorm that was part of Peabody College since before its merger with Vanderbilt in the 70s.
