When you got 1450 the first time in HS, you made a 700 point improvement. For the Verbal and Math sections, when you started restudying for the SAT in college and took practice exams, did you went online to the CB explanation source for questions you couldn’t consult with? Is that how you made jumps in your score? I need to know. I plan to retake my SAT one more time in College too.

HS: graduated with a 3.83 in 1991. We had no AP or IB stuff back then. 1420 on the SAT.

Georgia Tech: 0.52 in 41 hours attempted (quarter system, so they’re not equivalent to 41 hours at most schools).

Bethel College: 3.5 in 6 hours (semester)

University of Memphis: 2.28 in 110 hours attempted (semester)

After that, I worked for over a decade before returning to school with an Academic Fresh Start. Switched majors from Computer Science to Computer Engineering in the process.

Jackson State Community College: 4.0 through my first 43 hours.

The web site says Vandy is primarily interested in recent coursework and recs, so we’ll see how true that is. :)

hey guys, I just submitted my application on sunday afternoon after proof-reading the common app essays for a last time.

Remember Vanderbilt isn’t going to really “confrm” whether they recieved your file. Your the one applying so your going to have to call them as much as it takes to make sure they have all of the necessary materials. I’m calling them later today to make sure they have everything, as I have already sent everything in. Good luck to us! (also last years transfer acceptance rate for vandy was 51%!!! God I hope its the same this year and that I-or even all of us!- get in!!!)

I’m so nervous…I sent in my app on friday last week and i already can’t wait any longer for acceptance or rejection. I think im right on the bubble and my sat’s are sooo low…anyway good luck to all of you and I hope to see you next year ;)

I haven’t gotten any emails from Vanderbilt…but they keep sending stuff via mail.
Ive gotten some fin aid stuff and general info about Vanderbilt…what about you?

I think they’ll still be kinda high because of the limited space available for freshmen in The Commons. As I understand it, they took an unusually small freshman class last fall because of that, so they’ll either have to take plenty of transfers or significantly reduce the size of the student body.
