Is it just Peabody applicants who have heard back?

@ idleness:

Read this: [Advice for Waitlisted Students](https://blogs.uchicago.edu/collegeadmissions/2009/04/advice_for_waitlisted_students.html). It’s from the Chicago admissions blog about what to do if you’re a freshman applicant to Chicago put on the waitlist. That’s not exactly your position, but the advice is pretty general and easily applicable to your case. At this point, you essentially have to reaffirm your interest in Vanderbilt, and hope for the best.

where in nj are you?? Because I live in nj and still haven’t heard anything!!

@ Crazy4Commodores

i live in union county which is central jersey

if your admissions counselor told you that your decision was mailed this past week, then it should definitely be in by monday.

if not then my advice is to call your admissions counselor and see the status of your app again.

good luck!

you’re lucky, I live in Passaic County and I still haven’t received anything

@dcg

thanks for the advice! And congrats!! I’m in Monmouth county. Hopefully I’ll find out Monday, if not I’ll call then.

I have this irrational fear that my envelope fell out of the bag and into the sewer while the mailman was busy checking out a supersexy woman driving by in a porsche or something

i like how they send the acceptance letters and rejection letters and waitlist letters in the same form…just a 8x11 letter in an envelope.

@ rbkhoops21: seriously. 8x11… does that mean we get financial aid information later on??

ahh I live in Nashville like 5mins from vandy and I haven’t gotten a letter yet lol : /

But to be fair my counselor said mine for some “weird reason” hadn’t been brought to her yet to be reviewed for admission. (quotes are her words)

she asked me to call her on next Tuesday so I guess we’ll see then.
Also has everyone who has recieved their decision been an applicant for peabody?? Any Arts and sciences applicants out there that have gotten their decision yet???

once you get accepted you need to call the fin aid department and see what paperwork you need to get to them. Don’t wait for schools to contact you about fin aid you do it yourself, its faster and more efficient that way.

yeah like a few days before i got my acceptance letter i got a letter from the fin aid office asking for documents i had already sent in. So, I took it as a good sign that they were following up on my file.

@talha318: thanks! Will do!! I should call them first thing Monday morning.

rec’d email saying no but still did not get a letter. Stats: State university honors program, freshman, sciences major, 3.75 GPA (highest honors), awarded an honor given to only 8 freshman, essay submitted to be published in school publication. Applied to Arts & Sciences

applied last year as a high school senior and was waitlisted. I never got in but when I called to see if they could tell me why I didn’t get in, I was told that they did not go to the College of Arts and Sciences waitlist. Waiting on the waitlist is stressful!

wait, you got rejected through email???

waitlisted from colorado. vandy is No.1 for me but i also just got into wake forest and i am waiting on cuse and UVA. should i keep persuing vandy? does anyone know anything about the likelihood of acceptance off the waitlist?

@ ontothenextdream:

Maybe someone cruel is pranking you? From what I know, Vanderbilt NEVER releases decisions via email, be it an acceptance, rejection, or waitlist offer. Was it your counselor who emailed you about the rejection? Was the sender’s email address from a Vanderbilt email account? I’d call the admissions office to check up on this if I were you.

really? It was not from my counselor but I was so annoyed that I deleted it. Now you’ve got me wondering if I still have a chance. I think I’ll call on Monday.

rbkhoops21,

You should be receiving a letter shortly. It was mailed from Nashville on Tuesday.

Sincerely,

what does that sound like? acceptance or rejection or waitlist? lol…wow
