I visited and loved it! If my FA reaches ~10k more expensive than my UNC deal or so I’m pretty sure I’ll go, otherwise it’s unaffordable :(

Pretty certain I’m gonna go somewhere else. For now I’ve only heard back from Vandy and Rice (accepted at both), and still have to hear back from four more schools. Very likely I won’t be attending Vandy in the fall though.

@ TaggartNY:
Did you fly down from NYC? How expensive was it? I’m thinking about visiting, but all the plane tickets that I’ve checked out from NYC cost around $300-400 round-trip. I’m not sure if the trip is worth $300-400.

I am not going to go to Vanderbilt for undergraduate. I got into Cornell and am waiting on a bunch of other schools. 99% going to cornell, but if I get into Penn I will have to re-consider everything.

Do we have to send a form back to Vandy to decline our acceptance?

I don’t think you have to send them anything but let them know asap so that those of us who were wait listed have a chance :-)

haha how do i let them know?

I think you could probably just email the admissions counselor. Ugh I hear from Cornell on the 3rd and I’m scared that it’s going to be a tiny envelope. I would be happy at either Cornell or Vandy but Cornell is close to home and I’ve visited a lot so I’d prefer that.

nothing in the mailbox still =/

Ah my dad paid for it luckily. I had to pay extra because I booked it late, and it wasn’t even direct, but it was worth it to me. I never visited colleges before - might as well do it the right way!

^ Did they arrange for you to stay with a student on campus? How many days where you there and what did you do during your visit?

@ Castiel:
If you got the letter in the mail, then there should have been a form in the packet that you fill out about whether or not you’re enrolling.

Well no. I don’t think they do that ![]()
and either way I don’t know anyone there sadly

I had just missed the epic “spring rites” festival or whatever, so there wasn’t as much activity. I attended 2 lectures, went on the tour, and talked to a bunch of students. I was there on monday, so its not the same as visiting on a friday
awh

what I did see was great though. Stellar.

But above all else, it made me realize that I was right and my current college really does suck as much as I originally presumed

Yeah, I hate your current college as much as you do – and I don’t even go there! I made the mistake of visiting friends at SBU over a weekend back in February; I’m fairly certain Guantanamo is more fun and lively than your school.

I had a sudden epiphany and now I want to go do a 1yr grad program after i graduate, so i will be stalking the grad school forums hehehe

and I will probably not be going either…tuition combined with my living expenses makes it really hard for me to go out of the city (state if it’s one of cornell’s cheaper schools) for school for 3 yrs b/c then i either don’t have to pay as much tuition or have to worry about dorming expenses. seriously, i would have to live in the library and mooch of other people’s meals (as well as steal laundry service) if i matriculated >.< oh please let me get into cornell or columbia…

Oh please Vandy take me off the wait list. I previously applied thinking I had no chance at all but now I see that I’m SOOOO close!
