No decision for me today yet…
This is getting frustrating. We don’t even know if they’ll release tomorrow.
How many in the Facebook group seem likely to accept, % wise?
how would anyone know that
I feel like we won’t be getting another wave of decisions tomorrow. It just seems that if they’re waiting to see how many people accept or decline their offer, they would need to both wait until after the deadline passes and have time to decide how many acceptances to give out.
I hope I’m wrong, but it just seems like they’re going to keep us in suspense for at least a little while longer.
i feel that way as well. if the deadline isn’t until the night of tuesday, then i don’t think we will be able to know until after tuesday for sure. even then, they might have done that just to see how many deposits they got knowing that other schools won’t give decisions until a little into May, wait until those people got their decisions and see how many people decide to lose their deposit at vandy and then start filling the class again. Like who knows. Lmao the lady i called today was like “they could go well into JULY” but i feel like the front office doesn’t know jack shit about transfer admissions dates and always just says random stuff
i don’t wanna directly call my admissions counselor again to ask either
@vertiasyht I didn’t have that issue
@lakelester You’re right. I called them earlier this afternoon, and they said that they haven’t gotten around to credit evaluations yet.
@somehmonggirl Something tells me there will be a wave on Thursday
i don’t think they are necessarily waiting for every single person from the first wave to respond in order to send out the second wave. i think its reasonable that they would send out a second wave 2 weeks after the first one. vanderbilt also knows that other schools have deadlines and they aren’t just gonna rely on the first wave students because that wave alone most likely won’t fill all the spots
Accepting admission by May 2 means by midnight tonight or by 11:59 tomorrow?
11:59 central time tomorrow, I called to make sure.
While I don’t feel like we’re getting decisions today, I have been wrong every single time I have tried to predict a decision date. So maybe we’ll get decisions after all!
Someone has called the admission office to ensure the next wave would come out today as far as I remembered. Perhaps it’s just my imagination lol… @deterr
Boy, where is all the confidence in the 2nd Tuesday after the first wave?! Everything seems so dubious now :)) With so many finals crammed into one week, I have way too much in my mind to be overly concerned with these elusive decisions. A blessing in disguise, one could say.
I REALLY hope we hear back today. I’m dyin ova heahhh
Barring some major revelation, I will probably be declining my spot today to Vanderbilt to attend USC instead. I wish you all well at Vanderbilt for those of you that get in.
@phoenix23 If you don’t mind answering, what made you choose USC over Vanderbilt?
Mostly concern over social fit and academics. The presence of Greek life on campus is concerning to me as someone who does not relate to those kind of people very well as a more nerdy introvert, in addition I am concerned about the difficulty of classes with regards to grade deflation especially coming from an easy CC. Also, I have read a few times that it is more difficult for transfers to be incorporated into the campus. These may or may not be true. In the end, the worse case realistic scenario for me was worse at Vandy than it was at USC.
Also, since basically deciding on USC, I have felt more content, when I was leaning towards Vandy I was very conflicted. The only thing I will maybe regret about Vandy is the slight higher notoriety and the job prospects that come along with it. But I realize that I don’t think I would be the kind of person chosen for those high-competition jobs.
I wanted to like Vanderbilt but I don’t think I am willing to risk my happiness for 3 years of my life in the name of maybe a better initial career.
so i just called admissions and asked when can expect to find out. the girl on the phone confirmed that it is dependent on how many students from the first wave accept the offer but did not know when we can expect to get the second wave.
@aftfl so essentially, no decisions today
