I thought they were taking people off the waitlist this year
On a second thought, I think the chances for them to admit students off the waitlist is slightly close to zero… First of all, the admissions office needs to contact waitlistees and see whether they would accept the offer, which takes roughly one week. Then, the admits need to upload their syllabi and have their taken courses reviewed, which takes another one week. At the same time, it usually takes a week for the tech team to set up new student accounts. Lastly, even if we put immunization requirements and housing application aside, the school still needs time to arrange registration for those newly admits, given that even the open enrollment has passed. Guys, even if Vanderbilt was to experience under-enrollment this year, I just do not think it would go out of its way to do all that.
Exactly like what @somehmonggirl said, it is really a mystery why the transfer waitlist is still open… It is probably better for everyone to just move on. I really hoped my boyfriend could be admitted, yet, at this point, I do not want him to be played.
Okay, I take back what I said earlier. From what I have heard, Vandy has taken some people off the waitlist since Monday this week.
@PsychPRC Did you find that out from the admissions office?
@AGoodFloridian Not really. Someone who got admitted befriended me and told me that he was admitted on Monday
I asked for a screenshot of his email so I am sure this info is real
This admission cycle has been quite horrible to be frank, I’m not expecting much from my end. I do hope at least some of us on this thread are taken off the waitlist though.
I’m already gearing up for another semester at my college, prepping for high scores on the SAT II tests/ACT, the whole charade once again for Spring 2018.

I plan to transfer to Vanderbilt after two years at a community college I will attend. I want to enter the engineering program at Vanderbilt though. What classes should I be taking so that they will transfer. The Vanderbilt website does not help much. Thanks
Simply look up what classes are required to graduate with the major you would like and then look up in the course catalog what the classes are. https://engineering.vanderbilt.edu/chbe/UndergraduateProgram/curriculum-structure/
this is an example of what I’m talking about U should be able to find something like this for your intended major if u look hard enough
Does Vanderbilt accept Spring applicants?
No.
For those of you that think the waitlist is still open, its actually closed according to this blog on their website

Are there people on this thread that havent hear back regular? I literally have not received a decision and move in day is 2 weeks away.
Pretty pissed.
@Drwizardmoose thats so weird. That was posted on july 14 and my advisor said it was still open a couple of days ago
@Drwizardmoose oooohh that’s for freshman not transfers
@Drwizardmoose Yeah, that’s first years, 'tis a common mistake :))
@AGoodFloridian do you thibk theyre still gonna take some people off?
@ahhhhhomg Perfectly honest, no, I don’t think so. I’ve called them a few times, left messages, but have gotten no replies regarding that. If they do happen to take some people off, it’ll be in the single digits. We’re just waaaaay too close to the start of the semester for new students to get housing/financial aid settled.
I thank Vanderbilt for its decision, despite it being a waitlist. It was one of the veeeeeery few positive things that happened to me in this horrorshow of an admission cycle, so they have a place in my heart regardless. Good luck to all of you in the Fall semester!
@Drwizardmoose You should have heard something by now. What does your MyAppVU say?
@mjr2013 Ahhh, every time I see your username I swell up with joy hahahah You’re a prime example of what a hard working transfer student can achieve. Fricking Stanford man <3 How are excited are you?!?
