Vanderbilt University Early Decision for Fall 2025 Admission

Advise any stats of accepted students with intended major…

Our S25 did NOT apply ED as that’s too big of a commit for us OOS and a costly school… but he is a 1460/4.0GPA/4.9QPA/IBdiploma/2sport/theater/volunteer kind of biomedical engineering applicant from OOS… so yeah, just interested how things shape up… collegevine/niche/parchment/etc. suggest he outranks 50% of those accepted… but still has a 25% chance of getting in.

Good luck to any ED applicants!

Yeah no stats are safe anywhere these days. Our flagship state uni was a bloodbath even for IN-STATE kids last week. Our school(val/1550/nmf/decent ecs) got rejected from the desired engineering major and there are TONS of similar stat stories in the forum last week. Crazy times, more like a lottery.

Same in FL. FSU acceptance were by stats, but UF “holistic” with some crazy outcomes. The only pattern I saw at UF was preference for lower income students, even if the stats were significantly lower.

I found those sites to be VERY unreliable.

Here is what Vanderbilt admissions published about their last accepted class:

SAT Middle 50% Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: 750-800**
SAT Middle 50% Math: 780-800**
**based on students who submitted testing

I would only use CDS as a trustworthy source of stats. Did he submit his 1460?

Anything on EDII guys?

No changes to the portal yet. It’s possible nothing will change until the decision is ready at 5.

Can someone post if portal astrology worked? Waiting for our teen to come home to check the results

Rejected. A&S. 1460/33/4.3 gpa/12 APs with decent ECs with leadership. It just was not meant to be.

You must be referring to UT lol - my daughter suffered the same fate with top stats whereas kids with lower stats were accepted into the same major. No rhyme or reason for it - moving on!

Definitely not accurate… I got deferred but I’m pretty positive almost everyone saw the same things in their portal.

Yes and it was my son’s good friend he was hoping to go there with. Wasnt meant to be.

My son got in, 4.0 UW, 1550, captain of track and field, lots of volunteering, internship.

Portal astrology didn’t work this round, everyone got a financial aid counselor assigned, even RD applicants. There were no other signs.
