Advise any stats of accepted students with intended major…
Our S25 did NOT apply ED as that’s too big of a commit for us OOS and a costly school… but he is a 1460/4.0GPA/4.9QPA/IBdiploma/2sport/theater/volunteer kind of biomedical engineering applicant from OOS… so yeah, just interested how things shape up… collegevine/niche/parchment/etc. suggest he outranks 50% of those accepted… but still has a 25% chance of getting in.
Yeah no stats are safe anywhere these days. Our flagship state uni was a bloodbath even for IN-STATE kids last week. Our school(val/1550/nmf/decent ecs) got rejected from the desired engineering major and there are TONS of similar stat stories in the forum last week. Crazy times, more like a lottery.
Same in FL. FSU acceptance were by stats, but UF “holistic” with some crazy outcomes. The only pattern I saw at UF was preference for lower income students, even if the stats were significantly lower.
You must be referring to UT lol - my daughter suffered the same fate with top stats whereas kids with lower stats were accepted into the same major. No rhyme or reason for it - moving on!
