Thanks!
Welcome to the Dore family ! D24 couldnāt be happier with her experience there so far. She did ED1.
Yes, submitted. We ādonāt care to play gamesā⦠we are who we are⦠old school, take the test one and done⦠no study test prep gamesmanship-bs ⦠if someone doesnāt want a 98% then so be it⦠weāre not stressing over a number.
You have to love the school and the school has to love you, when the stars align itās quite wonderful! But itās so crazy hard! This application process was so stressful! Iām so happy itās over and that my son is so happy. Iām happy that heās happy though we are from NY and I wanted him closer but this is what he wanted so I have to make it work for him. FYI, he got rejected from UNC, UF, and UVA, and UT Austin. The relationship between the high school and the college is very important, if only a small percentage of the kids accepted from a particular high school actually enroll to that college, the relationship sours and top students can get rejected easily in later years. So take that into consideration when applying for schools. He got into few other great schools too but it was shocking to see the rejections.
S25 has early admit to UVA and await RD roundsā¦
Where is your son going? Vandy?
Yes, he did ED2 at Vandy so binding and heās excited to go there!
Daughter got in ED2 last night! She is absolutely thrilled and we are so relieved to be done with the whole college process (last kid!)
Best of luck to everyone and anchor down!
Welcome to the Dore family !
Any RD applicants on here? If so, have you received any recent contact via email, portal, etc.?
My son is RD and has not received anything in quite some time.
Does anyone know why on financial aid it says waived under financial documents with a grey checkmark? I submitted our financial docs through it anyway just to be safe
RD and nothing.
RD applicants please respond.
do you see any portal astrology. i have financial advisor but NO visit options, and still have option to upload quarter grades.
and do see any changes in checklist?
We canāt change anything. That has stopped. We have a financial advisor but no visit options.
hi - just joined so new at this - patience if I get this wrong. two questions: my daughter loved what she heard about peabody - and is a very active leader.
do you have any idea how many peabody freshman are HOD vs Educationā¦it looks like the class is about about 70/30 female to male so wondering if that makes it harder or if that is impacted by the focus split (ed vs hod).
also how much rigor did your child take in senior year? just trying to assess the reality of applying to a school with a sub 5% acceptance rate now.
Unfortunately, I donāt know the breakdown of HOD vs Education majors. I think within HOD thereās a good mix of males and females though.
As far as rigor, my daughter took AP Lit, AP Chem, AP Calc BC, AP Econ, Honors Spanish 4 and Leadership her Senior year. Itās great that your daughter has a lot of leadership as I think Vanderbilt and HOD in particular really value that.
thank you - so kind for you to reply. I am just trying to help her think through her options and she loves Vanderbilt (at the moment not interested in other schools) - if you happen to get any anecdotal data on HOD - let me know - I get the sense its about 70% education / 30% HoD but that was from a ways back. anyway - thanks again - really appreciate you responding.
Does any RD applicant has Admissions Officer (AO) listed in their admissions portal, if yes where itās listed. I donāt have one. Does it mean anything in portal astrology?
I donāt know about astrology. We donāt have one indicated anywhere obvious. We can go to Connect and Click on Meet Our Team but there is nothing specifically showing one for my son.
We have one but i guess it didnāt mean anything when it came to ED
