Vanderbilt University Fall 2011 Transfer Thread

I haven’t heard anything either. If anyone hears anything regarding the wait list please share!

I feel like they just waitlisted everyone so that they didn’t have to send out any rejection letters :-/ .

i feel the same way!

Rejected today.

I thank all of you for posting in this thread since the first day that I created it. For the Fall 2012 transfers who will undoubtedly peel through this thread and scrutinize the more than 1000 posts in anticipation of their decision letter, I leave you this:

“You can’t change the past, but you can ruin the present by worrying about the future.” - Author Unknown

and;

“I believe God is managing affairs and that He doesn’t need any advice from me. With God in charge, I believe everything will work out for the best in the end. So what is there to worry about.” - Henry Ford

God be with you all.

Thanks for reading,
Godric Gryffindor

Oh Godric, I’m so sorry! I can’t believe they waited this long to send you a rejection. What was that all about?

I know you’ll do well wherever you go, and in the long run it most likely won’t even matter, but I know that doesn’t help you now.

I was really rooting for you because you started this thread and have been faithful to it. Keep your chin up, don’t give up, overcome. Best to you.

Sorry to hear about that, Godric. May I ask if you applied for financial aid at Vandy?

What does that mean, the waitlist is “almost closed”? Does it mean all their slots are full, and they’re going to close our enrollment for anyone on the waitlist? That may be when they send out the rejection letters, once all the slots are full.

As for a backup, that’s sound advice in general for something like this.

how did you find that out? did you call the office? And I know they originally sent out some rejection letters in the early rounds

Vandy sucks. Still haven’t heard if I’m accepted denied or waitlisted. Already sent deposit to ucla

Still nothing hahahahha. Haven’t been accepted, denied, or waitlisted.

Still on the wait-list since late May; I should know by mid July. I talked to the west coast admissions officer who told me that their class is indeed nearly full. He said he would take note of my application, whatever that entails. I sent three additional letters of recommendation and am having my transcripts from this quarter rush delivered.

I don’t like how they accepted people from the wait list early. My school runs on quarters so my grades are available weeks after semesters, which apparently is a disadvantage.

I’m visiting the campus this Saturday. I can’t wait!!

I still haven’t heard anything back from Vandy. I was waitlisted in May, and I sent in some extra stuff to strengthen my app. I feel like because they have made me wait this long, there can’t possibly be good news for me  Has anyone heard anything from the waitlist?

I’m not sure why Vandy waitlisted so many applicants. I hope to see most of you this fall! I visited the campus on Saturday and absolutely loved it!

Anyone who was accepted this year: do you have any suggestions for a successful application next year?

Got off the waitlist yesterday. I actually can’t believe it. To everyone out there still waiting-- good luck and I wish you the best! Don’t give up hope!

Hey transfter11323, congrats on your admission! Could you post all your info please? I’m dying to know if I got off the waitlist, but I haven’t heard anything. My admissions counselor said I should know soon, but he said that about 2 weeks ago??? My current college wants tuition by the 31st :s and I have no idea where I am going!

I actually got off the waitlist a couple days ago. They told me I most likely wouldn’t get in a week ago, so I already renewed my apartment. However, Vandy called me a few days ago and told me different. So I think I was right on the cusp of getting admitted. For those who are interested, I am a sophmore with a 3.89 GPA and low ACT score of 25. However, I had a lot of extracurriculars and internships.

@Jhlee and transfer11323: Congrats! Make sure to join the Vanderbilt Fall 2011 Transfer group on facebook! It’s been super helpful for me and I’m sure it will be to you guys too! See you in the fall!

lol, still on the bloody wait list.
